Zambian Village
The Zambian Village is a home for 166 girls and 72 boys from some of the poorest rural parts of Zambia and refugee camps, bringing together students from Zambia, Malawi, Angola, Burundi, Congo, and Rwanda.
Lusaka, Zambia
The PestalozziWorld Zambian Village has been operating on two sites in Lusaka, Zambia, for more than a decade.
About two-thirds of the children selected for the programme come from rural villages from all provinces of Zambia; and about one-third of the students are from refugee camps and neighbouring countries including Malawi, Angola, Burundi, Congo, and Rwanda.
Our students start their journey with PestalozziWorld in Kasisi, on the outskirts of Lusaka. Here they spend their first two years learning the PestalozziWorld way.
After two years, they then become students of the Zambian Village in Ibex Hill, also in Lusaka. They all study at an excellent partner private school, which is only a few steps away from the Village.

After the school day has ended, they play sports on the field they share with the school and return to the Village to tend to their large organic garden. They also help prepare food, clean and maintain the facilities.

Because of a shortage of high-quality education options in Lusaka, PestalozziWorld launched a school next to its Village. Most of the children must travel by car or bus for 3-12 hours when they go home on school holidays.
The Pestalozzi Villages
Our 100% promise
From day one, we’ve relied on a small group of generous philanthropists to fund our operating expenses and salaries, so every penny you donate is spent on the care and education of extraordinary children, who have the potential to become future leaders and change-makers.
